drdo 2dg drug: DRDO invites EoI to transfer technology of 2-DG drug for bulk production

According to the EoI document, applications should be submitted before June 17 through email. "The EoI submitted by industries will be scrutinised by a Technical Assessment Committee (TAC). Only up to 15 industries will be given ToT on their capabilities, technical hand holding capability of DRDO and on First Come First Served Basis," it said.

DRDO's 2DG anti-Covid drug priced at Rs 990 per sachet: Dr Reddy's


The Defence Research and Development Organisation’s 2DG drug for the treatment of Covid-19 has been priced at Rs 990 per sachet by Dr Reddy’s Lab.
The drug will be provided to government hospitals at a discounted price, ANI quoted government officials as saying.
Earlier, defence minister Rajnath Singh had informed 10,000 sachets of the 2DG drug would be available in the market from Thursday (May 27, 2021).
The first batch of the drug will be available only in AIIMS, Armed Forces Hospitals, DRDO hospitals, and other places in need. It will be available in other hospitals in June.
DRDO Chairperson G Satheesh Reddy had said that 2DG should work against various strains of the COVID-19 virus.

The 2-DG drug has been developed by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences in collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories.
The first batch of Defence Research and Development Organisation's (DRDO) anti-COVID drug 2-DG will be released on Monday by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
In a tweet, the Office of Defence Minister said the first batch of 2-DG will be released via video conferencing facility at 10:30 AM on Monday.

The first tranche of 10,000 doses of 2-DG medicine for treating coronavirus patients will be launched early next week, informed Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) officials on Friday, May 14.
The 2-DG (2-deoxy-D-glucose), an anti-COVID-19 therapeutic application of the drug, has been developed by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a lab of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with Dr Reddys Laboratories (DRL), Hyderabad.
