169 WATERBURY – Florence “Cookie” (Drenkhahn) Caruso, 84, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Saint Mary Hospital on Monday, July 5, 2021. She was the widow of Carmine John Caruso who passed in 1991. Florence was born in Bridgeport on April 27, 1937, the daughter of the late Carl and Florence (Marks) Drenkhahn. She was a graduate of Milford High School, and spent 40 years as a floral designer in the greater Waterbury area working for Derouin’s, Whalley’s and Southbury Florist. Florence enjoyed traveling was an expert in all sorts of crafts, and she looked forward to entertaining her family and friends especially at the holidays. She was fortunate to have had a very strong group of friends with whom she enjoyed many memorable times. But what was most important to Florence was her family, especially her grandchildren. ....
