Fayette Sheriff Makes Arrests in Misc. Incidents A one-vehicle accident early this morning (Thursday, May 27) near Sumner, has resulted in the arrest of the driver. Shortly after 12:30am, the Fayette County Sheriff received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on 160th Street, a mile east of Sumner. There were no injuries reported. 05/25/21 A North Liberty man faces charges after allegedly driving while intoxicated with three children in tow. Police say the incident involved 31-year-old Courtney Hendrick of North Jones Boulevard was stopped at 11:15 Saturday night in the 100 block of North Park Road in Tiffin for a reported lane violation. Upon contact, he had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and showed measurable impairment on field testing. 5/23/21 A man on probation for a Johnson County drug offense is back in custody after a series of events in Dubuque, including harassing the mother of his child. 29-year-old Taylor Miller was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 4:30 Friday afternoon. Miller was given a five-year suspended sentence in March of 2017 after pleading guilty to a Drug Tax Stamp Violation. Miller was also sentenced to three years of supervision in Johnson County. 4/18/21 An Iowa City man faces charges that he tried to rob an acquaintance, at one point arming himself with a hammer. 25-year-old Jacob Lester of Benton Drive was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 3:15am Sunday. Iowa City Police say Lester had visited a South Gilbert Street apartment just after 4:30pm on August 21 st, 2020, telling one of the residents that he owed people money, and the victim was going to cover it or Lester would cause him physical harm.
