The Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu is pleased to announce the establishment of The Lord Mayor’s Youth Awards 2021. The awards celebrate outstanding young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age who have portrayed resilience and leadership during Covid-19. Members of the public are invited to nominate a young person they think is deserving of an award through the nomination portal on the Dublin City Council website. Dublin City Council and the National College of Art and Design have joined forces in a creative way to add colour to the city centre while conveying an important message to the public. The ‘Designing for the Pandemic: A Positive Focus’ project involved the 3rd year Communication Design students from NCAD designing flags that would encourage the viewer to stay positive while remaining attentive to the dangers of Covid-19.
