Ann H. Niekamp

Ann H. Niekamp received her heavenly crown on December 24, 2022. Ann was born September 26,1940 to Harry Hankins and Elizabeth Stewart Hankins. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Haley; grandson, Duff Haley; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends who she considered family.Ann's marriage to Melvin L. Niekamp began July 6, 1958 and was truly a partnership. She loved being a farm wife and met the many adventures with grace and determination. She joined the local quilting club upon moving to Hamilton County in 1963 and learned a new skill that developed into a quilting business many years later. Ann's cooking skills were legendary, and her table always had room for one more plate. She loved having friends and family in her home and was a second Mom and Aunt to many children throughout her years. She was beloved by many for her generosity and joy. She was a graduate of Concord Grade School and Carmi Township High School. Ann was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was an active member in Home Extension in Hamilton and White Counties for over 50 years. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; a son, Harry Dale Niekamp; son-in-law, Henry Bob Haley; her parents; stepmother, Anna Hankins; a sister, Jane Gill; and a niece, Anna Cronin.Funeral services for Ann Niekamp will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church on December 29, 2022, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a celebration of life at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery near Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Ann's name to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund."You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."

Henry Robert Haley – Carmi


Henry Robert Haley gained his heavenly home on April 22, 2021.  Henry was born July 13, 1945, to Raymond and Caroline (Stockhowe) Haley.  Henry Bob was an active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church  and walked in faith with his Saviour Jesus Christ. Henry Bob was a graduate of Carmi Township High School and Eastern Illinois University.  He was proud to answer the call to serve his country in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his return to civilian life, Henry joined the family business and worked as an operator and owner of Raymond Haley Well Service. Henry Bob started fishing at an early age and became an avid crappie fisherman.  He was well known on the tournament trail for over 30 years, partnering with his wife, Jo, for the past 23 years. Henry Bob loved competitive fishing and always said the best part of the tournament trail was the many friends he made over the years. He was also a 50 year member of the Carmi Elks and Masonic Lodge.
