ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC)
convened its first meeting in 2021 in a virtual format on January 28.
The meeting appreciated the role and contributions of Vietnam as the ACCC
Chairman in 2020 with the completion and adoption of mid-term review report
implementing the
Participants focused their discussion on the way to implement recommendations
in the report in order to enhance effectiveness of projects in the master plan and
promote the connection in fields.
They emphasised that the effective implementation of the MPAC 2025’s projects
and activities will support and contribute to carrying out the post-2025 ASEAN

Duopharma Biotech Bhd has signed a deal with the Malaysian government to supply 6.4 million doses of the Russian-developed Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine. The group said it will procure and supply to the Ministry of Health (MoH) the vaccine developed by the Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. Duopharma said its subsidiary, Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd (DMSB), has signed a term sheet agreement with MoH and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to secure the 6.4 million doses of Sputnik V. RDIF is the appointed marketing agent for Gamaleya for all international markets, with established partnerships in India, China, and South Korea to manufacture the vaccine. Duopharma said supply of the Sputnik V vaccine could be from any of RDIF s partners, subject to approval by MoH s National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).

PETALING JAYA: Duopharma Biotech Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd (DMSB), will procure and supply the Covid-19 vaccine known as “Sputnik V” developed by Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology to the Health Ministry (MOH).
DMSB has signed a term sheet agreement with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to secure 6.4 million doses of Sputnik V. RDIF is the appointed marketing agent for Gamaleya for all international markets. RDIF has established partnerships in India, China and South Korea to manufacture the Sputnik V vaccine in order to cope with the global growing demand for this vaccine. Supplies of the Sputnik V vaccine could be from any of RDIF’s partners, subject to approval by the Malaysia’s National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Health (MOH) today signed term sheet agreements with two vaccine suppliers, Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd (PLS) and Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd for the procurement of 18.4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine for 28.75 per cent of the Malaysian population.
MOH, in a statement today said PLS would supply 12 million doses of Covid-19 CORONAVAC, SARS-COV-2 Vaccine (Vero Cell) Inactivated produced by Sinovac Life Science Co. Ltd, which would be distributed in stages beginning April.
“Duopharma will supply 6.4 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine, produced by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Russia. The vaccine is expected to be distributed in stages by end-March 2021,” it said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 The Health Ministry has signed an agreement with local pharmaceutical companies Pharmaniaga Berhad and Duopharma (M) Sdn Bhd, who will jointly supply 18.4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from China and Russia for Malaysia.
The agreement was signed earlier today by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, with Pharmaniaga represented by its group managing director Datuk Zulkarnain Md Eusope and Duopharma by its group managing director Leonard Ariff Abdul Shatar, respectively.
