Ed Graff, the superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools, says he will not continue with the district after his contract ends on June 30.
The frustration over the last few weeks boiled over at the meeting, as students took over with megaphones and chanted "our schools."
The Minneapolis superintendent informed school board members in an email, just days after the district's 28,700 student returned to class after a teachers strike that lasted nearly three weeks.
Graff announced that he will not continue with a third term as MPS superintendent, and will step down when his contract expires in June.
