Former federal prosecutor will review process mix-ups
Tennessee's governor has paused executions for the rest of 2022.
The announcement by Gov. Bill Lee follows a last-minute reprieve he issued to Oscar Smith who was scheduled to be executed April 21.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is halting executions to conduct a review of the state's lethal injection procedures.
The move comes after Lee temporarily halted the execution of Oscar Franklin Smith an hour before he was set to die by lethal injection last month.
