Vietnam confirms 26 coronavirus cases on May 5

VOV.VN - Vietnam has recorded 26 coronavirus infections, including 18 locally-transmitted cases, during the past 12 hours, the Ministry of Health said in its 18.00hrs update on May 5.
The 18 local community cases were recorded in Hanoi capital (15), Dong Nai province (1) and Hai Duong province (1).
Notably, 14 of the cases in Hanoi were detected at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, becoming a new coronavirus hotspot in Vietnam.
The hospital was cordoned off during the day for epidemiological investigation, contact tracing and testing.
Under a decision signed by Dr Dao Ngoc Thach, director of the hospital, the hospital has been closed to visitors, starting on May 5, until further notice.

Vietnam confirms 21 imported cases, including an Indian expert

VOV.VN - Twenty-one people, including an Indian citizen, have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus after entering Vietnam, the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced in its 18.00hrs update on April 15.
The Indian expert, 38, boarded EK392 flight from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Vietnam’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on April 13, and was quarantined upon his arrival.
He tested positive the following day and was transferred to HCM City-based Cu Chi field hospital for medical surveillance and treatment.
Eighteen other patients are Vietnamese citizens who returned from the Philippines, Japan, the UAE, Qatar, Thailand, Japan and Angola from late March to April 14.
