State Department of Education to work with Alaska Federation of Natives on Tribal Compact Schools
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development has issued a grant to the Alaska Federation of Natives which aims to identify a pathway for a state-tribal compact in which Alaska Natives could administer K-12 public school. AFN has been approved for a $1 million grant for the Education Compacting Project. The project will be funded by the Federal CARES Act, Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.
