Kansas teacher farts during online class; bursts into laughter along with students
The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on many sectors, but the education has been the worst affected by it all. With schools, colleges and academics being shut for almost an entire academic year, students are clueless about what's next. But the latest decision by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) comes as a relief to not just students, but also to parents and teachers alike.
The Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, during an interaction with CBSE board on Thursday, decided that if a student fails in any of the three elective subjects such as Science, Mathematics and Social Science, the failed subject will be replaced by the "Skill Subject". The scorecard will then be calculated based on best of five subjects.

Following the decision of conducting Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) four times a year, some students have appealed that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and pharmacy undergraduate (UG) programmes should be conducted multiple times too. Students said the central government should take a decision and allow multiple attempts for NEET 2021 so that they have a better chance to improve their scores.
Focussing on the need for doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, students said it is high time that the central government makes provision for more admissions in the medical field. Sadia Quereshi, a student preparing for MBBS course said, "The pandemic has made it very clear how much we depend on health care facilities. It has also shown the gloomy side where we lack skilled doctors and medical practitioners."

Madurai MP Su. Venkatesan demands White Paper on reservation policies
Madurai MP Su. Venkatesan, of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has written to Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to reject the recommendation made by a committee to scrap reservation in faculty recruitment for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
In his letter, he demanded that the Ministry bring out a White Paper on the implementation of the reservation policies at the IITs.
It was Mr. Venkatesan’s question earlier this year to the Ministry that brought to light that such a committee had been constituted.
