ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet was informed on Tuesday that the National Asset Management Authority was being set up to keep a complete record of the state lands, retrieval of the government properties from illegal occupation and ensure their efficient use.
The meeting, held with Prime Minister in the chair, was told that the draft law had been sent for approval of the Ministry of Law and afterwards, the process of giving final shape to drafting law would begin.
During the meeting proceedings, various ministers said that thousands of acres of land belonging to the government departments like Civil Aviation, Railways, etc. were under illegal occupation. ....

FDE proposes Rs7bn worth of projects for schools, colleges - Newspaper


ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has proposed a project worth Rs7 billion to upgrade and give a facelift to 170 schools and colleges and the offices of five area education officers (AEOs).
“We have submitted the PC-I to the Planning Commission for approval,” said FDE Director General Dr Ikram Ali Malik.
Talking to Dawn, he said under the project 170 schools and colleges that remained neglected in previous projects under Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Programme will be face-lifted and upgraded.

The project called ‘Provision of Basic Educational Facilities in Educational Institutions of ICT’ has been prepared keeping in view the fact that FDE has mostly retained educational institutions handed over to it by the government of Punjab in 1973 and 1985. ....
