Pratt & Whitney reaches agreement to sell 300-acre former airfield near Rentschler Field
East Hartford jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney announced Monday that it has reached an agreement to sell its 300-acre former airfield to a Massachusetts-based development and investment firm, which plans to use the site for unspecified commercial development. In a statement, the manufacturer, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies, said the land, known as Rentschler Field, will come under the control of National Development, which has its headquarters in Newton Lower Falls, just west of Boston. A purchase price was not disclosed.
