SUNGAI PETANI (March 17): Malaysia needs to develop new growth areas, including the renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) sectors, to increase the demand for semiconductor chips in this country. Bursa Malaysia ended marginally higher on Tuesday (Feb 21), as investors stayed on the sidelines, ahead of the retabling of Budget 2023 on Friday. At 5pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI had inched up 0.55 of a point or 0.04% to end at 1,474.01, compared with Monday's close at 1,473.46.
