Britain has a moral duty to turn away refugees
Last year, almost 30,000 people illegally crossed the English channel in small boats. The drop may well be due in part to the fierce winds experienced over the year, and in 2024 the numbers arriving are projected to rise. Thousands of migrants are already waiting in France for their chance to attempt the dangerous crossing.
