Security video on March 10 shows Shane Jackson, at the time an off-duty Daytona Beach Police Officer, standing with his back to the camera facing a group of five people in front of the main entrance to the Flagler Tavern in New Smyrna Beach. Clutched in Jackson's right hand that March 10 night was what appeared to be a knife. Although the video has no sound the group of three men and two women and Jackson appear to be talking at each other and then arguing. What happened next that night — a stabbing — put Jackson in handcuffs and facing decades in prison.
