The Chamber has donated more than $500,000 to charitable causes since 2019.

Tomorrow (1 May), marks the 38th death anniversary of Seraj Uddin Ahmed, founder chairman of Elite Paint Group of Companies.  He was a prominent businessman and an influential figure in the banking sector of Bangladesh. In remembrance of Seraj Uddin Ahmed, a milad mahfil followed by Ziafat will be held at his Gulshan residence.

Elite Paint, one of the oldest decorative paint manufacturers in the country, brought in about three and a half tonnes of finished paint from India in cans with the ‘Product of Bangladesh’ stamp -- a move that violates the customs act and country-of-origin rules.

Superbrands Bangladesh has honoured 40 organisations from diverse industries, including The Daily Star in the newspaper category, as the most prestigious and valuable brands in the country for 2023-24. 

Paint Industry: Like other sectors, the paint industry in Bangladesh is in troubled waters as the US dollar crunch has made it difficult for manufacturers to import raw materials in line with their demand.
