one of the things i do as i keep rolling out a lot of plans. neither parent really important. neil: she s right about that. liz warren does roll out a lot of plans. she has a plan for everything except sometimes when it comes to paying for those plans such as medicare for all. we are waiting on the financial details of that. they still have not come forward. maybe that s why alexandria ocasio-cortez is deciding to back well, bernie sanders. he admits the middle-class will pay more for his health care plan but he also says they will get more back from his plan as well. proof that details matter and maybe now elizabeth warren doesn t matter or at least matter as much. to kevin, eliza and jana caldwell. gianno caldwell. what about having to have those details out there. ....
was interesting, elizabeth warren has said when it comes to medicare for all she is with bernie sanders. bernie sanders says he s going to raise taxes on the middle class to the finance medicare for all and truthfully speaking, the reason for elizabeth warren, part of her rise in the polls, is because she s had plans, like some democrats like joe biden who wants to have the flexibility to switch his tune and a general election. she hasn t done that. i find it fairly disingenuous that she is now saying, and she said in the past that it she was going to raise taxes on the middle-class but but surely if the economy, in 2016 health care expenses were 3.3 trillion accounting for 17% of the gdp, you re going to have to do something is going to radically change the health care system which equates to raising taxes. i am shocked she s not being honest about this because she s been honest about her other proposals. neil: any talk about gdp, percentage of gdp, that is my neck of the woods. ....
Kevin, would you make of the argument that with the great detailed plans, she was obviously a target of some of the other candidates. fleshing it out in more detail and she didn t. absolutely it s a fair question. when you ve risen the way she has, you ve got to expect people to think that you ve got those types of details, especially like gianno said, part of her rise was having a plan for everything. that s a big part of her mantra. the health care debate comes with so many different regarding the estimates of what medicare for all actually end up being because there is different amounts. 3.9 trillion that s been released by some studies. 5 trillion. talking about the difference between trillions. nobody knows how much it will cost but what elizabeth warren understands is that middle-class families are bearing too much of the cost of health care. it has skyrocketed in recent ....
That stuff sounds good until the economy goes sour. neil: mussolini was the last president for life. we forget based on the performance on whether people are happy. the years before he was able to change the rules and become president for life, remarkable under president xi. gordon talked about the different forces, there are a lot of forces that want to keep the gravy train going. the great thing is for him, he controls the media. whatever deal they cut, he will say we won. neil: you re right. charles payne, the anchor for life here. [laughs] neil: nice job security. pretty good gig. neil: elizabeth warren set to explain it today, medicare for all. cold feet or maybe not enough cold e cash? ....
neil: democratic presidential candidate is now on the move. i mean, big-time move. hey, peter. neil, mayor pete buttigieg has been very critical of how other candidates like elizabeth warren talk about medicare for all without talking about how to pay for it. buttigieg is explaining how he would fund medicare for all who wanted. we scored out for $1.5 trillion over that period of time. the vast majority of that can be recovered by rolling back the corporate tax rate portion of the trump tax. peter: and that s a little bit more detailed than what we get from other democrats. buttigieg is catching on. ....
