A bill introduced Monday by Rep. David Ray, R-Maumelle, that would have added exemptions to the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act failed in committee at the state Legislature on Wednesday when only four lawmakers voted in support of the measure.

A bill that would substantially overhaul the state's Freedom of Information Act failed in House Committee on State Agencies & Governmental Affairs Wednesday by a vote of 9 against and 4 in favor after more than three hours of testimony from opponents and supporters of the bill.
