Our capital city could do with a little more colour, and that’s what Zanaka on Taranaki Street is bringing to Wellington.
The bright and bursting colours of quite literally everything on display makes Zanaka impossible to miss. Customers leave saying they receive endless compliments on their purchases and one man even said his shirt makes him “feel like a brand-new person”.
‘Zanaka’ comes from the African Shona word ‘zvanaka’, meaning it has become beautiful, a new transformation, it is well. It holds elements of hope, peace and prosperity.
Born-and-raised in Zimbabwe, store-owner Tendekai Rodney Mugadza’s coolest little African shop has been welcoming Wellingtonians since opening in August.

on the Harmful Digital Communications Act (Unauthorised
Posting of Intimate Visual Recording) Amendment
Bill.
Labour Party MP Louisa Wall put forward the
amendment to clarify the thresholds for image-based sexual
abuse.
The amendments would make it a criminal offence
to deliberately post images of people exposed, naked or
engaged in an intimate sexual activity without their express
consent.
Express consent would require the person(s)
in the photo or video having full knowledge of where and how
