More than three years after fatally shooting his then-girlfriend's father outside a Northeast Side residence, a Columbus man was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison. Jordyn D. Preston, 21, of the East Side, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification for the Dec. 10, 2017, death of 54-year-old Van A. Johnson. The sentence, imposed by Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Dan Hawkins, was recommended by prosecuting and defense attorneys as part of a plea agreement.
