Lubbock City Council approves purchase, installation of outdoor warning system
The Lubbock City Council on Tuesday approved a contract for the purchase and installation of an outdoor warning system. The outdoor warning system, according to the city, will provide coverage to all residents inside city limits. It will provide an audible warning tone in compliance with Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines. An outdoor warning system, which is usually referred to as tornado sirens, was included in the general fund in the city's current fiscal year budget.
