OVB | Courtesy GALLIPOLIS, Ohio Ohio Valley Bank (OVB) recently presented a $5,000 donation to Square One of Southern Ohio. OVB’s donation will benefit Square One with a much needed renovation, allowing for an update to the shelter’s existing electrical and plumbing systems. In addition to the utilities update, Square One will be adding showers to the existing bathrooms and installing a full kitchen. The building will be able to accommodate up to 16 women at once and is on schedule to offer shelter beginning fall of 2021. The donation is an important part of the Ohio Valley Bank’s ongoing ....

The Edwardsville Administrative and Community Service committee on Thursday voted 2-1 in favor of the permit, with Alderman Jack Burns dissenting. Erin Long and Joseph Mays, who live in Godfrey, would like to turn a home at 223 N. Kansas St., Edwardsville, into a place for short-term rentals, with guests staying between two and 90 days at a time. The homeowners would not be onsite during guests’ visits and they anticipate as many as seven people would occupy their house at any given time. Guests would also have access to the home’s two-car garage. ....

Jefferson COVID precautions required the band to leave the band room after 30 minutes of rehearsal to allow the room’s air handling to catch up.
