Maine Woman Helping To Rescue Freezing Sea Turtles In Texas One of the many sad stories we've been hearing about the weather situation in Texas, is the plight of those freezing sea turtles. While the amphibians are poikilotherms, meaning their temperature varies greatly, they become stunned when dealing with extremely cold temperatures.  Being stunned leaves them basically unable to move.  Instead, they just float around on the surface of the ocean.
