Hydrogen - Ørsted Breaks Ground on First Renewable Hydrogen Project - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Photo: Filip Misiak Photography. H2RES will have a capacity of 2 MW and will be situated on Ørsted's premises on Avedøre Holme in Copenhagen. The project will investigate how to best combine an efficient electrolyser with the fluctuating power supply from offshore wind, using Ørsted's two 3.6 MW offshore wind turbines at Avedøre Holme. The facility will produce up to around 1,000 kg of renewable hydrogen a day, which will be used to fuel zero-emission road transport in the Greater Copenhagen area and on Zealand. The project is expected to produce its first hydrogen in late 2021. In less...

This is done by a system of compressors and turbines pumping heat energy from... view more  Credit: Claus Rye, Stiesdal Storage Technologies. Pea sized stones heated to 600?C in large, insulated steel tanks are at the heart of a new innovation project aiming to make a breakthrough in the storage of intermittent wind and solar electricity. The technology, which stores electrical energy as heat in stones, is called GridScale, and could become a cheap and efficient alternative to st...

A carbon-neutral methanol fuel cell system is taking shape at the Alfa Laval Test & Training Centre – gCaptain

Share this article Press Release – An innovative fuel cell system based on high-temperature proton exchange membrane (HTPEM) technology from Blue World Technologies is being constructed for testing at the Alfa Laval Test & Training Centre in Aalborg, Denmark. The test installation, which will use methanol as fuel, will explore the technology’s potential as a source of marine auxiliary power. Funded by Danish EUDP (Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program), the project is a joint effort between fuel cell maker Blue World Technologies, Alfa Laval and vessel owners DFDS, Maers...
