A questionnaire of 1,899 pregnant women nationwide representing all 50 states reveals that during the Covid-19 pandemic if a pregnant woman had lower socioeconomic status and/or were African American, she was less likely to have the intention of taking a Covid-19 vaccine or actually receiving it.

EMMA HARRIS/STATESMAN FILE After nearly 11 years as Dean of Stony Brook University’s Renaissance School of Medicine and Senior Vice President of Health Sciences, Dr. Kenneth Kaushansky will be retiring from the university at the end of the academic year.  According to a statement to faculty and staff on Jan. 4 from President Maurie McInnis, Kaushansky will exit his role as dean on Jan. 31 and remain senior vice president until the end of the spring semester.
