The Nigerian Army has been alleged of torturing a soldier, Lance Corporal Philomena Nnamoko, for attempting to resign due to health conditions. It was gathered that Nnamoko, who joined the Army on August 15, 2009, was attached to the 22 Support, Engineering Regiment, Intelligence Department, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, maltreated by her officers. Nnamoko claimed that her problems started in early 2017 when she received a fibroid diagnosis and was asked to leave the Army as a result of her condition.
