Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Friday stayed the implementation of a circular issued by the state government on May 11, with guidelines to streamline the influx of ambulances carrying Covid-19 patients from other states into Telangana for hospitalisation.
The court made it clear that the orders would come into effect forthwith, as against the police waiting for receipt of an order copy from the court. ....

Satna cops had sezied the oxygen cylinders during a raid
BHOPAL: Satna district administration and police on Sunday confiscated more than 600 oxygen cylinders from Satna and Rewa district and distributed them to various hospitals.
One person identified as Rajeev Kumar Jain has been taken into custody under various sections of Epidemics Act and Black-Marketing Act. He is proprietor of Vindhya Engineering. During the raid at his godown, police made repeated calls for his presence, but he didn’t turn up. Later, the locks were opened in the presence of independent witnesses. “His brother had a license for oxygen supply to areas within jurisdiction of Rewa district. He, however, failed to produce any documents relevant to over 500 oxygen cylinders that were found in his possession in Satna district and some LPG cylinders,” said Dharamveer Yadav, SP Satna district. ....

CHENNAI: A trial court here on Wednesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea moved by actor Mansoor Ali Khan in a case registered against him by the Chennai city police for spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine.
The issue pertains to Mansoor Ali Khan s statements linking actor Vivekh s death, without any basis, to the COVID-19 vaccine.
During the hearing on Thursday before the Principal Sessions Judge R Selvakumar, the state s counsel contended that the anticipatory bail plea has to be dismissed since the actor s remarks were irresponsible. ....
