No new cases of COVID-19; center plans to shut down in June E-T staff report Erath County saw no new cases of COVID-19, but one additional death attributed to the virus this week, according to a report released Friday by county emergency management officials. Erath County Vaccination Center officials announced recently that the center will no longer be offering first doses. At Tuesday s regular meeting of the Stephenville City Council, Fire Chief Jimmy Chew informed the council that plans are to shut down the center the first week of June, giving individuals enough time to make sure they receive their second dose. The last chance to receive your first dose of the Moderna vaccine will be Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., a post on the center s Facebook page reads. Individuals may sign up for the free vaccination online by visiting http://bit.do/ERATH or by calling (254) 459-5053. The call center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. One new COVID-19 case reported in county; center still providing free vaccinations E-T staff report Erath County saw an increase of one new case of COVID-19 this week, according to a report released Friday by county emergency management officials. The new case was confirmed in Stephenville. As of Wednesday, 23.6% of Texans have been fully vaccinated, according to reports from the Texas Tribune. The average number of new cases decreased by 91 statewide compared with the seven-day average a week ago. On Thursday, 2,195 new confirmed cases were reported statewide, the Tribune reports. Eligibility requirements for Texans seeking to be vaccinated now include all adults. Those 16 years of age and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, and individuals age 18 or older are eligible to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Department of State Health Services. ....
