Bedbugs sightings have increased all over Paris. Take precautions, but don't panic, an expert says.

Despite Canada's efforts to slow the stream of asylum seekers across its borders, refugee claims in the country have only risen. The phenomenon is no better illustrated than at the Montreal airport, where the number of asylum seekers attempting entry has exploded five-fold since 2019.

A widespread power outage affected large swaths of the western side of Montreal Thursday afternoon. By early evening, most of the outages had been resolved. On the Island of Montreal, more than 198,000 customers were affected by 169 different outages. Another 17,500 clients were affected in Montérégie.

The outage happened at around 3:30 p.m., affecting about 200,000 clients, mostly in western Montreal and the West Island. By 7 p.m., fewer than 2,000 customers were still without power.

The federal government moved this week to bolster accountability at airports, introducing new legislation that would compel them to cough up more information on their performance.
