Lincoln water superintendent ousted
LINCOLN – Lincoln Water Supt. Romeo Mendes resigned on Monday in the midst of rising discontent between the superintendent and Lincoln’s Board of Water Commissioners. Rumors of trouble between the two parties were fueled last month when Mendes was seen being forcibly escorted out of the Water Department building, with Lincoln police officers at the scene. He was not charged with any crimes.
