Dog trapped on Saginaw County island saved after officials alerted by good Samaritan

JAMES TWP, MI Drifting along the waterways in his Starcraft fishing boat during the Freeland Walleye Festival, Robert DeBolt noticed an odd site on an uninhabited island: a marooned dog.
While DeBolt was unable to rescue the timid canine, he alerted officials to the dog’s plight. Thanks to DeBolt’s action, Saginaw County Animal Care & Control Center officers and Saginaw County Sheriff’s deputies pooled their resources and managed to bring the dog ashore, saving it from a dour fate on the small hunk of land. ....
