The Connecticut State Police accident report on the incident indicated the crash happened around 2 p.m. on I-84 west near Exit 37. A juvenile, who the report said was in a forward-facing child restraint system, was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for suspected serious injuries to his hand and lacerations to his face, according to police. ....

Elijah David Bertrand, 19, has been charged with murder in the death of 28-year-old Nathan D. Burk, of Waterbury. State Police confirmed in a tweet around 2:30 p.m. that 19-year-old Bertrand had been arrested. Plymouth police Capt. CT man accused of killing UPS worker held on $2 million bond FacebookTwitterEmail WATERBURY The man suspected of killing a United Parcel Service employee in Watertown is being held in lieu of a $2 million bond after appearing in court Thursday. A staffer with the Waterbury Judicial District clerk’s office said Bertrand’s bond was maintained at $2 million Thursday. He remained in custody, she said, and the case was continued to Jan. 6. On Wednesday morning, state police Trooper Josue Dorelus reported that Bertrand “is employed with UPS.” He said the exact capacity of Bertrand’s employment is not yet clear. Detectives are still working to figure out a possible motive, Dorelus said. He said preliminary information indicates that the two were working together at the time of the incident. ....
