Fox Chapel Area High School and Dorseyville Middle School students won awards as part of the virtual 87th Annual Region 7 Meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS).
District first-place winners were seniors Jackson Romero and Sanjay Seshan; juniors Zoe Lakkis and Siddharth Yende; sophomores Lawrence Liu and Arvind Seshan; freshmen Lakshanya Rajaganapathi and Adhitya Thirumala; and eighth graders Anna Delale-O’Connor, Etash Jhanji and Rohit Velankar.
First-place winners qualified for the state PJAS competition which will be held virtually in May. ....

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio – The Chagrin Falls Schools’ return to full-day, in-person instruction is going well so far, Superintendent Robert Hunt told the Chagrin Falls Board of Education Wednesday (Jan. 20).
“It’s been a very smooth couple of days, with our 7-12 students reintegrating into the buildings,” Hunt said. “We’ve seen an increase in numbers at the high school of students taking advantage of the open campus at lunch, so the numbers are very manageable.”
Board President Phil Rankin asked Hunt what the return to full-day, in-person learning has been like for grades 7-12 students, who have been in the district’s hybrid model most of the school year. ....
