The summons follow NCBC's repeated letters to the West Bengal government seeking latest social, educational and economic data of the 87 castes recommended for inclusion. West Bengal had recommended 87 castes, including 80 from Muslim community, for the central OBC list.
A senior BJP leader said going forward the BJP's focus will be on consolidating Hindutva vote bank and reach out to castes on the back of welfare schemes and measures taken by Modi government at the Centre.
