The town of Fort Frances is hoping for some federal funding for its airport. It’s making an application to a program set up to offset the impact of the pandemic on the aviation sector. Operations and Facilities Manager, Travis Rob, says it will cover 100 per cent of operating costs. “This is a program where we can apply for reimbursement of specific operating expenses for 12 months period, any 12-month period between March 2020 and March 31, 2022,” says Rob. THERE has been an update from Falmouth Town Council on the rubble filled main drain for Gyllyngvase Beach toilets which is currently blocked. As reported in the Packet last week, the toilets had to be closed again last week after raw sewage started spilling onto the pavement outside the block. A CCTV survey was conducted by South West Water and found that the pipe had been partially blocked by a variety of building materials including concrete, asphalt and stone.
