April 30, 2021- The hugely popular Science Rendezvous Kingston is set to spark curiosity and discovery in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through a virtual platform and series of events that launches May 1st.
When the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19, organizers Lynda Colgan and Kim Garrett from the Queen’s Faculty of Education set their sights on developing the first virtual Science Rendezvous Kingston to mark its return. The enthusiastic response from the STEM community and Queen’s researchers has turned the 10th anniversary event into the largest program offering yet, with live virtual activities. ....

LAGOS, Nigeria, Feb. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/  Muhammad Sanusi II, UN SDG advocate and the 14th Emir of Kano are currently in partnership with 1 Million Teachers (1MT); a social enterprise to provide access to high-quality teacher education to underserved communities around the world. The initiative aims to empower highly competent and enterprising education changemakers across Africa who are taking action to develop learning outcomes in their communities; especially for girls and women.
SDG 4 Goals
Following the announcement for entry applications for the MS II SDG Challenge in 2020, over 225 applications consisting of 902 team members from 9 countries within Sub-Saharan Africa were received. Following a thorough review process, 10 finalists were chosen as Cohort 1 of the challenge.  ....

The Muhammad Sanusi II Sustainable Development Goals Challenge (MSII SDG Challenge) is a project committed to empowering highly competent and enterprising education change makers who are taking action to develop learning outcomes in their communities; especially for girls and women.
Last year, following the announcement of the MSII SDG Challenge, which is in partnership with 1 Million Teachers (1MT) – a social enterprise that provides access to high-quality teacher education to underserved communities around the world, over 225 applications with 902 team members from 9 countries within Sub-Saharan Africa were received.
After a thorough review process – the highly awaited top 10 finalists which form Cohort 1 of the challenge were announced and onboarded earlier this January 2021. ....
