Thomas William Miller, 85 of Fairfield passed away at 7:45 AM, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Tom was born on January 11, 1937, to Sam and Jennie (Banta) Miller. On November 24, 1956, he married the love of his life, Loretta June Miller, who preceded him in death in 2009. Tom was drafted into the United States Army, where he started basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood and was eventually stationed at Fort Sill, OK. He had worked in the oilfield, including running a pulling unit for Pure Oil Company and retired in 1992 as a production foreman for Unical in Cisne. After retirement, he worked part-time for Strange Rod and Pump Services. Tom was a longtime Fairfield Volunteer Firefighter and could be found at the station most weekdays for 10:30AM and 2:30PM coffee breaks. Fishing was his passion, and for many years he competed with the Edwards/Wayne County Bass Club. If he wasn't in his boat on a lake fishing, he was either reading or watc ....
