MSK vs Breezango non-title match set for WWE NXT

WWE has announced that NXT Tag Team Champions MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) will face Breezango (Tyler Breeze & Fandango) in a non-title match on tonight s episode of NXT. On NXT two weeks ago, MSK & NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida lost a six-man tag match to Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde). Kushida is defending his Cruiserweight title against Escobar in a two-out-of-three falls match on tonight s NXT. Mendoza pinned Carter to win the six-man tag match. On last week s show, Mendoza & Wilde cut a promo saying that they want a title match against MSK. MSK have been NXT Tag Team Champions since defeating The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) and Mendoza & Wilde in a triple threat match at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver last month. The titles were vacant going into that match.

Powell s NXT Hit List: MSK and Kushida vs Legado del Fantasma, Mercedes Martinez vs Dakota Kai, Bronson Reed vs Austin Theory, Killian Dain and Drake Maverick vs Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner, Cameron Grimes and Ted DiBiase

NXT Hits Kushida and “MSK” Wes Lee and Nash Carter vs. “Legado del Fantasma” Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, and Raul Mendoza: A strong six-man tag match that did a great job of putting heat on the heel trio. In doing so, they also set up a pair of title matches with Escobar going after the NXT Cruiserweight Title that he lost to Kushida, while Wilde and Mendoza presumably earned an NXT Tag Title shot by giving MSK their first loss. Mercedes Martinez vs. Dakota Kai: I wasn’t sure whether Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai turned babyface going into this match. Gonzalez had been all smiles since winning the title, and Kai facing heel Martinez really made me wonder. But the Gonzalez attack on Martinez seemed designed to cement the duo as heels, while presumably turning Martinez babyface. Martinez is a strong heel, but fans should have no trouble rallying behind the longtime independent veteran.

This ranking is way up but the rating is down 4% from last week’s second Tuesday show, which ranked #27 with a 0.23 rating in the key demo.

Three matches announced for next week s WWE NXT

Three matches have been made official for next week s episode of NXT. Bronson Reed vs. Austin Theory will take place on NXT next Tuesday. if Reed wins, he ll get a future shot at Johnny Gargano s NXT North American Championship. Mercedes Martinez vs. Dakota Kai and a six-man tag with Kushida & MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) facing Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde) are the other two matches that have been announced for next Tuesday s NXT. Reed won the Gauntlet Eliminator match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver night one earlier this month and advanced to challenge for Gargano s North American title on night two, but Gargano defeated him to retain. Reed confronted Gargano on NXT tonight and said he still has his eyes on Gargano s title. Gargano told Reed to get to the back of the line, but Theory said he already talked to NXT general manager William Regal and Regal said the only way Reed will get another title shot is if he defeats Theory.
