Hull s impact recognized in Farber ceremony Published by admin on Thu, 05/06/2021 - 9:26pm The life and service of the late Vernelle Hull was in focus at a special dedication ceremony at the Farber Library Saturday, April 24. Hull was instrumental in the establishment of the Farber Branch Library, which opened in 1966, with Hull serving as branch manager. During her 54-year career - from July 1966 to February 2020 - she spent countless hours developing the Farber Library and serving her community. In her honor, a memorial bench was presented by Farber Community Betterment as was a bronze plaque with her image commemorating her tireless efforts and selfless acts. ....
COLUMBIA - With temperatures dropping, more warming centers opened in mid-Missouri to provide a shelter from the cold. In Columbia, the Wabash Bus Station will be open at nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the evening of Saturday, Feb. 13. Columbia s other regular warming centers are: Activity and Recreation Center: Monday â Friday: 5:30 a.m. â 9:30 p.m., Saturday: 7 a.m. â 6 p.m., Sunday: 9 a.m. â 6 p.m. Boone County Government Center: Monday â Friday: 8 a.m. â 5 p.m. Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services: Monday â Friday: 8 a.m. â 5 p.m. There will be no fares on GoCoMo buses all day for residents to ride and stay warm. ....
