David Gustave Stefan, 76, passed away peacefully Feb. 24, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Rhinelander to the late Gustave and Lucille (Grieg) Stefan. He married Susan (Ravnum) Stefan Feb. 25, 1967, in Black River Falls.

Helen (Weitzel) Hess Helen (Weitzel) Hess Helen Irene Hess, 104, of Sparta, formerly of Cazenovia, passed away on March 11, 2021, at the Morrow Home in Sparta. Funeral services for Helen will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 22, at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, with Father Patrick Wendler as celebrant. Burial will be made in Concord Cemetery, Willow Township, Richland County. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Feb 5, 2021 REEDSBURG, Wis. — Michael Roland Sloat, age 71, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away from a hard-fought battle with cancer, at home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Michael was born on July 3, 1949, to Roland and Ann Marie (nee Roe) Sloat in Iron River. While attending Michigan Technological University, he met and married Christine (nee Alger), graduated with a degree in biology/biochemistry, and moved to Wisconsin. He worked for a proprietary wet-air oxidation company for several years and then moved to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. At the DNR, Mike worked in the Environmental Management Division, first in the Wastewater Program and then transferred to the Air Management program.
James W. Brown, 66, of Reedsburg passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. A private family service for Jim will be held at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery in Ironton. In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be made to the ALS Foundation. The Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg is assisting the family.
