SRINAGAR: The National Conference-led five-party People s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration on Wednesday assembled at PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti s Srinagar residence for the first time in six months to discuss the prevailing uncertainty in J&K, ostensibly triggered by rumours about the Centre planning a further bifurcation of the Union Territory.
While NC president and Srinagar MP Farooq Abdullah denied that the alliance was reacting to the possibility of a big development , the Valley was agog with talk of how the arrival of 200 companies of paramilitary forces was a signal of something brewing in Kashmir. KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Sindh police on Friday summoned disgruntled leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan, Farooq Sattar, and Pak Sarzameen Party leader Anees Ahmed Advocate for their alleged involvement in terrorist incidents in Hyderabad. A notice had been sent to summon Sattar at the CTD Civil Line at 12pm on Saturday. According to the notice issued to Sattar, three suspects, Naeem Khan, Imran Ahmed and Aleemuddin, were arrested during a raid in Landhi on May 28 for having ties with Indian spy agency, RAW, and their involvement in terrorist activities.
According to the CTD officials, the suspects had disclosed getting assistance from Sattar, Advocate and others in terrorist activities in Karachi and Hyderabad. The CTD had also issued call-up notice to advocate. ....
