you see a number of folks who had life jackets on the decks there. meantime the ferry s captain is also speaking for the first time. he is saying the team did their best to save everyone on board. well after years of delays the all-important employer mandate portion of obamacare is going into effect for the first time this as republicans prepare a new offensive in an attempt to repeal the law now that they have majorities in both houses of congress. katie pavlich news editor of townhall.com and fox news contributor. she joins us with more insight. thanks for joining us. happy new year. good morning. happy new year, heather. heather: the new year is not happy for some folks because when it comes to obamacare many important things are happening many calling them the most important yet. three major things i specifically want to talk about. employer mandate as we mentioned kicks in. fines for lack of health car coverage for individuals.
we ll bring that up. they suspended the search efforts for sunken ferry in south korea. authorities say 187 bodies have been recovered so far. divers found the bodies of 48 school girls still wearing life vests in one of the ship s cabins. authorities say those vests made have made it more difficult for the girls to escape because of the way the ship listed and tilted and then how it positioned itself under water. right now 115 people remain missing. meantime prosecutors say all crew members involved in this disaster are now in custody. four more people were detained today. meaning that at least 15 crew members now have been arrested so far, that includes the ferry s captain. our nic robertson is live in south korea with search efforts there. as diverers go under water

the group is being blamed. members say the gun battle was staged to make it look like they re at fault. at risk is the fragile truce that struck last week in geneva. they re levying sanctions if this agreement fails. now to the tragedy at sea in south korea. more than 200 people remain missing. the country s president is speaking out on harsh criticism of the ship s crew. she says their actions were, quote, murder rouse. they must take civil and financial responsibility. transcripts of the ship cap sizing. the ferry s captain is accused of waiting more than 30 minutes to issue an evacuation order. four more crew members have been detained for allegedly failing to protect passengers on board. that s in addition to the captain and two other members who were detained last week. the official death toll has climbed to 60 people.
