Mount Pleasant, IA- The Henry County Sheriff's Office has announced a Mount Pleasant woman has been charged after they fled a traffic stop. According to a news release, on Thursday, April 6th, at about 4:49 PM Henry County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near East Henry Street and North Lee Street on a vehicle for a stop sign violation. 31-year-old Andrea C. Hay of Mount Pleasant was stopped and during the traffic stop, fled the scene and a pursuit ensued. With the assistance of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, and the Iowa State Patrol, Henry County Deputies pursued the vehicle through several city streets within Mount Pleasant and eventually onto county roads. Law Enforcement eventually terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns. The vehicle and Hay were later located. No injuries were reported. Hay was charged with Eluding-speeds 25 MPS over the speed limit, Interference with Official Acts, Reckless Driving, and cited for Unsafe Passing, Speeding, Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way.
