Danbury Fire Department Acting Chief Retires After 36 Years After more then three decades of serving the Danbury community, Danbury's acting Fire Chief Mark Omasta has called it quits. According to a press release from the Fire Department, Mark began his 36 year firefighting career in 1984 with Citizens Hose Company 6 in Wilton. After a year, he returned to Danbury and from then on he has worked as a firefighter, an EMT and as an aircraft rescue firefighter.
