PMC had issued advertisements and allotted places for firecracker stalls in all regional wards. The civic body had charged ₹30,000 as deposit for a stall at open space and ₹50,000 for prominent places

The administration came in action and removed the stall which was set up at Hutatma Park in Sheetal Nagar after hunger strike by Marty Major Kaustubh Rane’s mother.
Thus far the Thane Municipal Corporation received 747 applications of which only 58 stall owners have received permission. One of the shopowners said that the civic body had delayed issuance of permits.
