The Michigan DNR and the Negaunee Fire Department are warning an increased potential in wildfires this summer due to a dry environment across the U.P. This is due to a lack of rain since flooding earlier in the spring, resulting in the land drying out across the U.P and a series of fire bans across Michigan to help prevent fires.
