Was no question that there needed to be an independent investigation of the possibility that an obstruction of justice had happened in the firing of james comey. that s why an independent counsel was appointed to look into the origins of that conflict of that conversation and the notion there is some connection between the firing of andrew mccabe and the potential firing of mueller is insane. i use the word insane advisedly. you think it s insane to think the firing of mccabe is in any way connected to the firing of mueller in the future if it happened, that they re not setting it up? their claim is that mccabe was fired for the mishandling of classified information and for speaking to the press in a way that was not acceptable and was beyond the brief of anyone in the fbi. that s their claim. ....
Investigation or whatever is coming next? a couple things, fred. first, a lot of people have been saying since last night that the ig s office at the department of justice is nonpartisan, and so we have to know a little more about what their specific findings were before we can know the underlying facts about whether or not this was a justified firing of mccabe. the problem i think with sessions is that he at an earlier stage said he was recusing himself from all matters related to the presidential election involving trump and clinton, and this does touch the presidential election. if i could quickly fact check myself from before the commercial, i think i may have suggested that mccabe stood to lose his pension. he isn t going to potentially lose his pension, but he won t be able to collect it right away, starting with his birthday tomorrow. just wanted to clear that up. and perhaps there may be some legal recourse, if we have more time, i would like to ask about that, but brie nl, ....
