Expanded Fishing Opportunities Proposed at Kootenai NWR The Draft Revised Compatibility Determination for Fishing is available for public review and comment from 05/04/21 to 07/06/21. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes expanding fishing opportunities on Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) for the 2021-2022 season. We propose to open the 2.2-mile section of Deep Creek’s banks that are within the Refuge to night fishing in order to offer additional compatible fishing opportunities, in alignment with the State fishing season.
