Heartland Festival Orchestra On this week’s episode of Out and About, Artistic Director of the Heartland Festival Orchestra David Commanday joins Jenn Gordon to talk about Beethoven’s incomparable 5th Piano Concerto (“The Emperor”) and Mendelssohn’s brilliant 4th Symphony (“The Italian”). WASHINGTON — Eighteen Washington liquor license holders are getting a financial break from the city when they most need it. They won't have to pay for their license when they renew it for the 2021-22 fiscal year. They can thank Lori Peifer, owner of Lori's Kitchen Store, for the city's gesture. Peifer has a BYOB (bring your own beer and wine) license from the city for cooking classes held at her store. The license cost her $350 for the 2020-21 fiscal year, which began May 1 and will continue through April 30. During normal times, Peifer holds about two cooking classes a week. Because she's...
